The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn't have no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing technology allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective but it could get caught in the tassels of the rug.
In our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished, and a fair amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved but it was able to recover speed and did better than other robots that we evaluated.
The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better at navigating around obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to remove sticky mess. On the other hand the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from where it left off even if the battery is out before it has finished. The iRobot can be controlled by voice commands, which is a huge plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at the price of. This vacuum was made for those who are budget conscious and do not require a complicated mapping system, or an app to control it. The robot can run for a long time and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.
The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic and is made to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.
The eufy11S did well in our tests to remove larger debris and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to provide medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is also prone to bump into furniture and people that are in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. If it encounters them it stops and lets out a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.
The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set up the robot to automatically adjust the suction strength based on the type of floor and the level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S where you want it to move.
If you don't have many furniture in the area you want to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time spent on each area to 20 minutes. This will extend battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner, cleaning corners and edges.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance is also great on floors that are not bare. It can pick up small particles like rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction power even when its dirt bin fills. Its allergy-friendly design and air-sealed body captures allergens to keep your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
It's not quite as powerful as other models, but it's excellent for deep cleaning and fighting stains. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide a live image feed on your smartphone, and it has one of the best obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen.
