iRobot Roomba 694

The iRobot Roomba is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that is effective on both plain flooring and carpets with low pile. It has good suction and cleans most debris, however it has trouble with bigger debris like rice or sand. It is effective in cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as resistant to tangling as the premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.

The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has a trio of buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' initiates the cleaning process and 'Dock' allows it to be put back in its charging station and 'Spot Clean' triggers a targeted clean. It can be controlled via an app for smartphones that lets you schedule and stop/start cycles, as well as adjust settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a bit slower than the others, however it's still able reach the majority of crevices and corners. It has a huge dust bin that is ideal for reducing the frequency which you must empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allows you to set the robot to avoid certain areas, or even stop cleaning completely to stop it from getting stuck.

Although it's not the top model for its price however, it's superior to many other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with superior cleaning efficiency on carpets with low and no pile. It also has an efficient cleaning route and has a longer battery life. It is also more durable, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, and costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

You may also want to consider other models within the iRobot range, such as the v7 and the 981. They also have a larger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily and are easier to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot with a budget does a good job on hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges, and it automatically boosts suction when it senses carpet. It also does an excellent job of cleaning dirt on carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a small footprint and a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor levels or set no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn't have no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing technology allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective but it could get caught in the tassels of the rug.

In our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished, and a fair amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved but it was able to recover speed and did better than other robots that we evaluated.

The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better at navigating around obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to remove sticky mess. On the other hand the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from where it left off even if the battery is out before it has finished. The iRobot can be controlled by voice commands, which is a huge plus for many users.

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at the price of. The robot can run for a long time and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic and is made to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.

The eufy11S did well in our tests to remove larger debris and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to provide medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is also prone to bump into furniture and people that are in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. If it encounters them it stops and lets out a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set up the robot to automatically adjust the suction strength based on the type of floor and the level of mess. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S where you want it to move.

If you don't have many furniture in the area you want to vacuum Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

It also has a big dustbin, a long runtime, and a fast, bump-free clean-up.

The turbo head works best with high-pile or low-pile carpeting while the standard powerhead is suitable for bare floors and light rug. It also has an automatic height adjustment system which allows it to easily adapt to various types of flooring without any manual adjustments.

The model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle hard floors as well as carpeting with a medium pile. The powerhead can be easily moved and reach difficult spots.
