iRobot Roomba 694
The Roomba 694 from iRobot is an entry-level robot vacuum that is able to work on bare floors and low-pile carpet. It has a decent suction and can clean most debris, however it struggles with larger particles like rice or sand. It is effective in cleaning pet hair but isn't as resistant to tangling as the premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.
The Roomba is simple to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. They also follow an efficient cleaning path and come with a larger dirt compartment, are faster to charge, move more easily, and are easier to connect with smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors. The combination brush is able to reach corners and edges and then automatically boosts suction once it spots carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning dirt on carpet in the middle. The IQ has a small footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you want to change floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll have to manually reset it to do this, which is a bit of an inconvenience.
The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing system allows for greater maneuverability, and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective, although it can get caught on rug tassels.
During our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair with ease, removing huge amounts of debris from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpets. It was unable to reach dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was slower on floors that were not paved, but it recovered speed robot cleaner with mop and was more efficient than the other robots we have test.
The IQ is a more suitable option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin, a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can clean up sticky messes. The iRobot, however, feels better built, has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance and incurs fewer ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no go zones using its companion app. It can continue cleaning from where it left off even if the battery runs out before it has finished. The iRobot is also controlled by voice commands, which is an enormous benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it does offer powerful cleaning power at an affordable price. This robot vacuum is made for those who are budget conscious and do not require a complicated mapping system, or even an app, to control it. This robot can last for up to an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic and is made to appear like brushed aluminum. It's a nice change from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
The eufy11S performed well in our tests of removing larger debris and fine dust from flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. The device is capable to bump into furniture and people along its course. However, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. When it encounters them, it halts and emits a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.
Another fantastic feature of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and the amount of the mess. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to the desired place.
Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
You can also choose Edge Cleaning that limits the amount of time spent in each location to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. With this option, the eufy will move in a spiral to clean edges and corners for an efficient clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a top mid-priced vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also exceptional. It is able to remove rice and other small particles easily. The suction power doesn't drop when the dirt bin is full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens and keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.
It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and tackling stains. Its two front cameras deliver live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it features one of the best obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It also has a large dustbin, long runtime and a speedy, bump-free clean-up.
